Lady Lobos Will Be Led By Five Seniors

    Coach Don Godfrey has 13 girls on the Lady Lobo varsity roster as the team gets the new basketball season under way. After opening the season at Holbrook on Tuesday, Snowflake will have a week off to prepare for a game at Winslow on Dec. 1. On Dec. 4, the Snowflake girls will host St. Johns.
    Last season the Lady Lobos were 12-14 overall, but finished in third place in the East region with a 6-4 record. They closed their season in the first round of the state tournament with a loss to eventual state runner-up Winslow.
    Five seniors are on the 2009-10 squad, including Taylor Brubaker, Brittany Titus, Jessica Johnson, Debbie Nezzie and Shelby Sherwood.  Juniors on the team include Reagon Godfrey, Alex Merrell, Kiana Natvidad and Courtney Reidhead.  They will be joined by sophomores Natalie Elkins, Carlie Stratton, Devrie Woodside and Lisha Titus.
    “This year we have three big post players, who we will need to count on. Also our guards will have to do a good job of taking care of the ball and finding our post players when they are open,” stated Coach Godfrey.
