Winslow Winter Classic Will Open On Thursday

   The Winslow Lady Bulldogs will host the Winslow Winter Classic Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 17-19. The tournament is one of the best girls’ tournaments in the Southwest and features 16 teams this season. Teams will play a prearranged schedule on Thursday, with winners going into the championship bracket and losers into the consolation bracket on Friday and Saturday.
   On Thursday, Hopi will meet Holbrook in the old gym at 3 p.m., while Snowflake and Chinle are meeting in the new gym. At 4:30 p.m., Williams and Tuba City will meet in the old gym, and Joseph City will play Window Rock in the new gym. At 6 p.m., Greyhills and Monument Valley will play in the old gym, and Ganado and Perry will meet in the new gym. At 7:30 p.m., Payson and Sedona Red Rock will meet in the old gym while Winslow and Piñon meet in the new gym.
   There will be games at 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday in both gyms, with championship bracket games in the new gym and consolation bracket games in the old gym.
   Games start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and will continue until the championship games for both brackets are played at 7:30 p.m. There will be eight games played on Saturday in each gym.
