HHS Track Teams Compete In NPA’s Skydome Classic

   The Holbrook track teams opened the 2010 season at the NPA Skydome Classic, hosted by Northland Preparatory Academy on March 2 in Flagstaff. The Holbrook boys did not place in the 17-team field, but the girls team finished in 12th place with 12 team points. Sedona won both the boys’ and the girls’ team titles. Snowflake placed second in the boys’ division and Tuba City was third. In the girls’ division, Show Low was second and Snowflake placed third.
   In individual events for the boys, Rashaun Baldwin placed 30th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.89; Andy Leon, 48th in 8.38; and Maurice Joe, 49th in 8.42.
   In the 200 meter dash, Josh Hatch placed 29th with a time of 26.50; and Maurice Joe, 38th in 27.71.
   Reuban Kee was 43rd in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:08.
   In the 800 meter run, Adrian Thomas placed 23rd with a time of 2:19; Corey Kanuho, 30th in 2:26; and Reuban Kee, 43rd in 2:40.
   Adrian Thomas placed 11th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:13; Melcomh Chee, 28th in 5:36; and Nolen James, placed 33rd in 5:48.
   Nolen James placed 29th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:17.
   In the 60 meter hurdles, Josh Hatch placed 12th with a time of 10:22; Trent Holmes, 26th in 11:78; and Gabriel Andis, 27th in 11:83.
   Holbrook’s 4x400 relay team of Josh Hatch, Trent Holmes, Maurice Joe and Adrian Thomas placed 12th with a time of 4:05.
   In field events, Gabriel Andis and Rashaun Baldwin tied for 19th in the high jump, both clearing 5’0”.
   In the long jump, Raushaun Baldwin was 30th with a distance of 15’7.5”; Andy Leon, 36th with 14’6”; and Maurice Joe, 37th with 14’4.5”.
   In the shot put, Robert Jager placed 19th with a distance of 36’8”; Tony Begay, 29th with 33’4”; and Terrance Tsosie, 32nd with 31’1”.
   In the girls’ events, August Tsosie placed 47th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 10.14.
   Tess McGee was 14th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.04; and Analisa Dawson, 41st in 32.90.
   In the 800 meter run, Colbi Nez placed eighth with a time of 2:43; April Lester, 19th in 2:50; and Mariah Hatch, 30th in 3:01.
   In the 1600 meter run, Andrell Williams placed 33rd with a time of 7:43.
   In the 3200 meter run, Andrell Williams placed fifth with a time of 13:20; and Kelsie Yazzie, 19th in 14:45.
   In the 60 meter hurdles, Danielle Tapaha placed 18th in a time of 11.97; Sharon Young, 25th in 13.64; and Tamika Baldwin, 26th in 13.67.
   The 4x400 meter relay team of Danielle Tapaha, Kalei Long, Tess McGee and Colbi Nez placed 12th with a time of 4:57.
   In field events, Kalei Long placed 22nd in the long jump with a distance of 12’8”; Danielle Tapaha, 26th with 12’0.5”; and Sheriesse Thomas, 31st with 11’0.5”.
   Kalei Long placed 14th in the triple jump with 25’8.25”.
   In the shot put, Chelsea John won the event with a toss of 33’7.5”. April Lester placed eighth with 27’7”; and Jessica Yazzie, ninth with 27’3”.
