Wilson James

    Wilson James, 68, died around Saturday, March 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Pentecostal Assembly of God Church, located two miles east of Greasewood Trading Post, with Pastor Edison Belin officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held nightly from 6:30 p.m. at the Greasewood Chapter House.
    He was born November 29, 1939, in Ganado, the son of Marie Lee James and Theodore James. He was born for the Tower House People and Red House Clan.
    Wilson attended school at the Greasewood Boarding School, then the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah, where he received his high school diploma.
    Wilson worked various jobs, including as a carpenter, a horse trainer and on the railroad.    
    He enjoyed training horses and would seek out rodeos for the bullriding contests. He also had a God given talent of playing guitar and drawing artwork.
    He loved to make people laugh, he was full of happiness and enjoyed each moment with all his grandchildren. He spoke highly of all his grandchildren and loved them dearly.
    He was kind hearted, and a wonderful man.
    Survivors include three sons, Artson James, Anderson James and Vincent James; six daughters, Darlene James, Rhonda Tonchine, Lucinda James, Alfreda James, Amy James and Karen James; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Marie Lee James; his brother, Robert Lee James; two sisters, Betty Claw and Linda Yazzie; and 16 nieces and six nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore James, and his sister, Alta Segina.
    Tse Bonito Mortuary in Window Rock is in charge of the arrangements.
