Gladys Anderson, 94, of Lakeside died on Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Carriage House in Snowflake. Services are planned for a later date. Mrs. Anderson was born July 7, 1913, in Watertown, S.D., the daughter of John and Gina (Rislov) Stadheim. She was raised and attended school in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School in 1930. She attended Madison State College. She was married to Robert Anderson on July 16, 1935, in Florence, S.D. They went to California in 1939 and operated a grocery store in Los Angeles for 10 years. She later worked for several supermarket chains. She came to Lakeside in 1980. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, fishing, cooking and gardening. She was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Janice (Byron) Armstrong of Lakeside and Linda Ochoa of Pomona, Calif.; a sister, Randi Stradheim of Oceanside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vickie Roberts; a sister, Fern Bergan; and two brothers, Glenn and Aelnor Stadheim. Black’s Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
