Thomas V. Keams

Thomas Varker Keams, 55, died on Monday, May 19, 2008, in Flagstaff. Funeral services were held May 23 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook.  Interment was at the Holbrook Cemetery.  
    He was born Aug. 29, 1952, in Keams Canyon to Joe and Barbara Keams.  
    Thomas graduated from Many Farms High School, where he was a bull rider for the high school rodeo.  
    He served in the National Guard in Fort Bliss, Texas.  
    Thomas worked as a ranch hand for Bill Jeffers, and as a mechanic for various areas.  
    He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was also a very handsome man, who had a lot of hu-mor.
    Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Linda Russell of Holbrook; three daughters, Joyce (LeeRay) Belin of Holbrook, and Shonda Keams and Krystal Keams, both of Greasewood; three sons, Grant Keams of Shiprock, N.M., David Keams of Gallup, N.M., and Shawn Keams of Winslow; five sisters, Nellie Tyler of Page, Amy Begay of Lower Greasewood, Louise Lopez of Sacramento, Calif., Sharon Keams of St. Mi-chael and Mary Ann Nez of Greasewood; and four brothers, Paul Keams of Page, Morris Keams of Tohatchi, N.M., Lawrence Keams of Greasewood and Eugene Keams of Albuquerque, N.M.  
    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kee Keams and Bahe Keams; and a sister, Verna Dixon.
    Owens Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
