Mildred Willis, 75, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at her home in Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock this morning (Oct 3) at the Taylor Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor. She was born May 3, 1933, in Snowflake to Reed S. Hatch and Edie Ramsey Hatch. On Aug. 28, 1950, she married Lloyd R. Willis in Taylor. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 28, 1950. They enjoyed 58 years of married life together. She lived in Farwell, Texas, for a year and a half, and the remainder of her life in Snowflake and Taylor. She graduated from high school in May 1951, and went on to college to become an EMT. She held many positions in the LDS church. She was president of the Relief Society, president of the Primary and also served in the Stake Relief Society. She was a partner and owner with her husband of the Hatch Bros. Store, and was a volunteer for the ambulance and fire department for 15 years. Her hobbies included cake decorating, quilting, crocheting, tatting and embroidery. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd R. Willis of Taylor; three sons, Vernal Reed (Kathy) of Mesa, Lon (Suzette) of Taylor and John (Ronda) of Mesa; two daughters, Susan (Ben) of Vale, Ore., and Amy of Taylor; three brothers, Willard A. Hatch of Farmington, Maine, Ben Hatch of Winslow and Marion Hatch of Taylor; and three sisters, Sharon Woolford of Show Low, and Jean McClaran and Jane Martineau, both of Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Hatch; her parents, Reed and Edie Hatch; and her son, Lloyd Reves Willis. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor is in charge of the arrangements.
