Milo Farnsworth Kartchner, 95, died early Saturday morning, Jan. 17, 2009, at his home in Overgaard, with his wife and one of his daughters at his side. Funeral services were held Jan. 22 at the Heber Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at the Heber Cemetery. Milo was born on Sept. 27, 1913, in Blanding, Utah, to John Howard and Ida Belle (Farnsworth) Kartchner. In his younger years he lived quite some time in the Mexican Colonies in Mexico. He moved to Arizona more than 60 years ago, and had worked several years as a prison guard for the State of Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Matilda (Pulliam) Kartchner of Overgaard; four children, Lela Morrison of Overgaard, Glen Kartchner (Liz) of Stockton, Utah, Glenda Mosteller (Dan) of Tooele, Utah, and Gene Kartchner (Tammy) of West Jordan, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mae Peterson and Thelma Hassell; three brothers, George Kartchner, Leith Kartchner and Howard Kartchner; and a great-granddaughter, Casey. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
