Nancy Rose Smith

Nancy Rose Smith, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Flagstaff. Funeral services were held March 4 at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Holbrook. Interment was in the Holbrook Cemetery.
   She was born Nov. 30, 1936, in Crownpoint, N.M., to Harding Negale and Glinny Manuelito.
   Nancy married Wilfred H. Smith on Dec. 29, 1960, in Richfield, Utah.
   She worked as an institutional cook for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Holbrook, retiring in 1983.
   Nancy very much loved her home, children and grandchildren. She also loved traveling and camping.
   Survivors include her children, Jonathan Smith of Holbrook, Rev. Fred Smith of Duchesne, Utah, Wil-helmina H. Ohlson of Holbrook, Willa H. Smith of Holbrook and Winifred H. Whalen of Phoenix; her sib-lings, Lucy Lueppe of Farmington, N.M., Mary Saxon of Albuquerque, N.M., Steve Negale of Crownpoint, Tommy Negale of Shiprock, N.M., Patrick Negale of Zia, N.M., Elmer Nez of Crownpoint and Cindy Ne-gale of Crownpoint; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
