Ann E. Talley

    Ann E. Talley, 84, of Vernon passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Summit Regional Medical Center in Show Low. Graveside services were held March 11 at the Show Low Cemetery, with Edward Long officiating.
    She was born Nov. 25, 1924, at Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of James and Lenora (Buckmeyer) Johnson. She was reared and attended school at Carlisle, Pa.  
    She was married to Mark L. Talley on Sept. 24, 1985, at Newport News, Va.  
    She moved from Texas to Phoenix in 1984 and came to the White Mountains in 1992.
    She was a lifelong homemaker, and also raised chickens and sold eggs. She was affectionately known as the “Egg Lady.” She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was everybody’s best friend.
    Survivors include two daughters, Carla Long (Howard Johnson) of Concho and India Raney (Larry) of Jay, Okla.; three sons, Kenneth Talley (Gladys) of St. Johns, Robert Talley of Snowflake and Russell (Eileen) Talley of Vernon; two sisters, Ida Neal and Ruth Markus, both of Carlisle; two stepdaughters, Barbara French of Phoenix and Mary Shipman of Gillette, Wyo.; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.  
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two stepchildren Harold and Mark; and a grandson, Robert Long II.
    Black’s Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
