George J. HillMay 13th, 2009
George Jaramillo Hill, 66, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. Private services will be held at a later date. George was born Nov. 4, 1942, in St. Johns to Lorenzo and Christina (Jaramillo) Hill. Many will remember George riding around town on his bike with his best friend Willey riding in the basket with him. They were such good friends that Willey would wait in his basket until George was done with whatever he was doing. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and to cut wood. George was willing to help anyone in need. Survivors include his best friend who took care of him till the end, George Reidhead; two daughters; Vivian (Randy) Taylor and Rhonda Hill (Dave Johnson); stepdaughter, Frances (Leonard) Wagner; 14 grandchildren, Adam, Holly, Bo, Brandy, Samantha, Nicole, Jason, Alana, Amas, Joshua, Elizabeth, Christopher, Johnathon and Stacey; five great-grandchildren, Colby, Chloe, Kyrin, Kali and Dan; a sister, Annie Benta of Springerville; two brothers, Gilbert (Libby) Hill of Springerville and Elmo (Dela) Archuleta of Snowflake; a sister, Violet Stowell of Springerville; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jeff Hill; and a sister, Dora Serna. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
