Celia Hunt Turley

    Celia Hunt Turley, 39, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa.  
    She was born May 3, 1970, in Provo, Utah, and was raised on the Hunt homestead in Joseph City.  She attended Joseph City schools until her graduation.  
    Celia was a student at University of Arizona and Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education.  
    She married Darren Turley in the Mesa Temple on June 2, 1990.  
    Celia was a gifted writer, artist, seamstress and teacher.  More importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She served faithfully in the LDS church in positions including Primary counselor and music leader, Cub Scout leader and Relief Society teacher. She had great capacity and strength and always gave her best efforts in everything she did.  
    At the time of her passing, she was employed by the Gilbert School District as a kindergarten teacher at Spectrum Elementary School.  
    Survivors include her husband, Darren Lamar Turley, and their five children, Cherise, Camille, Emmett, Makenna and Griffin; her parents, Dennis and Linda Hunt; three brothers, Duane Hunt, Paul Hunt and John Hunt; and four sisters Maria Hancock, Allyson Hunt, Maren Hunt and Kirsten Rosser.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 22, at the Boulder Creek Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3025 S. Hawes, just off Guadalupe in Mesa. A visitation will precede the services at 9 a.m.  Interment will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, at the Hunt Family Cemetery on Hunt Road in Joseph City.
