Karlene DeSoto, 60, of Concho passed away at her home on Saturday, May 16, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Calvary Baptist Church in Snowflake, with Pastor David Marshall officiating. Karlene was born on May 12, 1949, to Karl and Marjorie DeSoto in Seattle, Wash. Karlene will be missed by all. She was a loving mother, always helping others, making sure everyone was taken care of first. She loved life and had a big heart. She put her troubles in God’s hands and left them to Him. She knew He would always take care of her and the ones she loved. She worked as a dental assistant. Survivors include her husband, Steven Honer; her grandsons, Austin and Dallis Nash, and a granddaughter, Lexi Nash; her daughter, Shalako Nash, and son-in-law, Tony Archibeque; her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and James Verso; her father, Karl DeSoto; her brother, Stephen DeSoto; two granddaughters, Abrie and Kandas Archibeque; one great-granddaughter, Rilee Archibeque; her mother-in-law, Eleaner Honer; two sisters-in-law, Teresa and Marie Honer; two brothers-in-law, Stanley and David Honer; two daughters-in law, Lené and April Honer; and two nieces, Rose and Sarah Honer. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Chantel Starr Nash. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
