Marie Reynolds

     Marie Eleanor (Souza) Reynolds, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her home in Joseph City, surrounded by her loving and caring family, after a battle with cancer.
    Born in Pacific Grove, Calif., on Dec. 18, 1927, Marie was the third of five children born to Manuel M. and Mary C. Souza.
    She was a resident of Navajo County for more than 50 years.
    Marie was a private person who held many steadfast beliefs. She enjoyed gardening, reading western novels and collecting antiques.
    She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
    Survivors include her children, Carl (Charlene) of Fremont, Calif., Steven of Prescott, Mark (Lori) of Joseph City, Patrick (Nicole) of Payson and Jamie (Curt) of Mesa; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Emily Consiglio and Rosemarie Jackson of California.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Albert and Frank Souza; her husband of 49 years, Arthur H. Reynolds, who passed away in 1995; and her daughter-in-law, Holly (Detjen) Reynolds, who passed away in 2009.
