Emilia Luna

July 1st, 2009

Our special angel, Emilia Deserae Luna, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009, in Cedar City, Utah, while on a vacation visiting family. She had just celebrated her sixth birthday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Interment was in the Holbrook Cemetery.
Emilia was born on June 23, 2003, in Show Low. Last month she completed kindergarten and was excited about being in the first grade next year. She most recently learned how to ride a horse.
Her beautiful smile seemed to light up the room as she entered it. Constantly playing, she loved taking care of her mommy, as well as her brothers and sister.
Emilia was very well loved and so special that God must have needed her more than we did. She will always be remembered and we will forever keep her in our hearts. We know that she is watching over all of us, and is now resting with her grandpa Orlando.
Survivors include her mother, Amber Padilla (Gilbert Alvarez) of Holbrook; her father, Adam Luna of Flagstaff; three brothers, Orlando and Angelo Martinez, and Fernando Luna, all of Holbrook; two sisters, Adriana and Sierra Luna, both of Holbrook; her maternal grandmother, Patrice Isham of Beryl, Utah; her maternal great-grandmothers, Rita Padilla of Holbrook and Dixie Parker of Beryl; her paternal grandparents, Judy and Adam Luna of Holbrook; two uncles, Duston Padilla and Ryan Gallegos, both of Holbrook; her cousin, Jesse Santibanez of Holbrook; as well as the extended Serna and Padilla families.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Orlando Padilla, and great-grandfather, Adolf “Sugar” Padilla.
Donations may be made in Emilia’s name at any Wells Fargo location.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
