Harold Bowers Jr.

    Harold Kenneth Bowers Jr., 69, of Overgaard passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. Private services will be held.
   Harold was born March 12, 1940 in Houston, Texas, to the late Harold K. and Marjorie (Williams) Bowers.
    On Sept. 10, 1960, Harold married the love of his life, Beverly (Penland) Bowers, in Tijuana, Mexico.
   Harold was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout and serving for more than 40 years.
   Harold worked in the logging industry for eight years, and was elected as sheriff of Challis, Idaho. He also served as the town marshal in Bovill, Idaho.
    Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Beverly Bowers of Overgaard; his daughter, Dawn Bowers of Goodyear; three sons, Kenneth (Felicia) Bowers of Reno, Nev., Todd (Debi) Bowers of Clarksville, Tenn., and John (JaRee) Bowers of Overgaard; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
