Irene Owens Davis

    Irene Owens Davis, 83, died on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. Friends may visit from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Main Street Chapel Relief Society Room in Snowflake. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Main Street Chapel. Interment will follow at the Taylor Cemetery.
   Irene was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Latta, Dillon County, S.C., the daughter of Lester Owens and Tommie Jane Weatherford.
   Survivors include her husband, Clarence Davis; 10 children, James M. Davis (Carol), C. Bruce Davis (Debbie), Irene M. Austin, Michael R. Davis (Barbara), Barbara M. Sollars (Samuel), Starr M. Nicholas (Daniel), Ernest L. Mariner (Lois), Brent E. Davis (Lou Etta), David L. Davis (Michelle) and Terry O. Smith (Kim); 70 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by three sons, John W. Mariner, Byron S. Mariner and Michael T. Mariner; and one son-in-law, Charles M. Austin.
   Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor is in charge of the arrangements.
