JCHS Presents Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

“Goin’ courting” has never been as much fun as in Joseph City High School’s rip-roaring production of the popular MGM movie, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.” Millie (Jessica Downs) is a young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness, whose plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law (left to right, Jared Gardner, Cory Thellmann, Derek Downs, (seated right) Zach Baldwin, (not pictured) Zach Taylor and A.J. Smith) to ensure the success of her own marriage to Adam Pontipe (Spencer Baldwin, standing right) backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women (Marika Stynsberg, Jaci Penrod, Lindsey Larsen, Malisa Farnes, Kelcee Moore, Sarah Farr) from a neighboring town to be their brides. Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers” is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical. The production will run only two nights, Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14. Tickets are available at the door of B.G. Bennett Auditorium in Joseph City for only $5.
